Is Jeremy Clarkson Putting Together a Box More Entertaining than the New Top Gear?
The new Top Gear isn’t doing so well, and fans of the show are eagerly awaiting The Grand Tour.
With viewership dropping substantially on the second episode of the new Top Gear with Chris Evans and Matt LeBlanc at the helm, longtime fans of the show are questioning whether it can be saved. Meanwhile, Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May are getting ready to launch The Grand Tour on Amazon, but before they get back into reviewing cars, they’re building DHL boxes.
That’s right, a video showed up on James May’s YouTube channel this week showing Clarkson putting together a box. It has absolutely nothing to do with cars, but those who enjoy Top Gear are probably watching it because they miss the signature banter between the three hosts.

The three-minute video, which looks like it was shot with May’s phone (and not even in landscape mode!), will likely remind people that they watched Top Gear for the hosts, and not the cars. Whether you love or hate Jeremy Clarkson, it’s hard to argue that the original Top Gear was so successful because of the chemistry between the three hosts. Case in point – people all over the internet are already saying that this video is more entertaining than the new Top Gear.
It might be a bit of a stretch, but you might be surprised to see how many times you pop a smile while watching this video of a man building a box. The video already has more than 1.3 million views. Your move, BBC.
