Part Two of ‘Top Secret Tesla Masterplan’ Coming Soon
Tesla CEO Elon Musk is getting ready to reveal the second phase in Tesla’s “top secret masterplan.”
Back in 2006, the outspoken CEO penned Tesla’s original master plan, which had four main steps: build sports car; use that money to build an affordable car; use that money to build an even more affordable car; while doing above, also provide zero emission electric power generation options. Tesla has followed that plan fairly well and is now on the third step, developing the Model 3, the brand’s first mass-market vehicle.
This progression hasn’t been without its hiccups though, and it seems like lately Tesla has been in the news constantly, leaving lots of topics for Musk to address in his new plan.
Tesla and Elon Musk are currently dealing with an investigation into two different accidents where the drivers claim that Autopilot, Tesla’s semi-autonomous driving technology, was active at the time of a crash. Tesla has already said that “based on the information we have now, we have no reason to believe that Autopilot had anything to do with this accident.”

Tesla also made news last month by announcing its intention to buy SolarCity, a company that Musk is principal shareholder and chairman of.
Musk says that he is hoping to publish the new master plan sometime this week.
Below are some of Musk’s recent tweets, responding to questions about Autopilot and the SolarCity deal.
