Porsche 991.2 GTS Targa Spied Camouflage Free

1

Porsche has a few more 911 models that haven’t received their facelifts.

The Porsche 991.2 GT2 and GT3 models are still testing with heavy camouflage, but the 991.2 GTS Targa is nearing its debut as spy photographers have caught it completely exposed during hot weather testing in southern Spain.

This particular prototype features a sportier GT3-like front bumper, center-locking wheels and a black targa rollover bar, all options that are currently not available on the standard 911 Targa models. It is likely these options will either be part of a sport package offering for the standard models, or serve as standalone options.

Like many other 911 models, the updated GTS model will turn to forced induction with Porsche tossing out the naturally-aspirated 3.8-liter engine for a 3.0-liter twin-turbo flat six. Expect the 991.2 GTS to be offered in two- and four-wheel-drive variants in coupe, convertible and Targa form. Both manual and PDK dual-clutch transmissions will be available across the range.

The Porsche 991.2 GTS Targa should make its debut later this year.
