Alfa Romeo Stelvio Crossover Looks Ready for Debut in Spy Shots
Expected to debut at the 2016 L.A. Auto Show in November, the Alfa Romeo Stelvio crossover has shed a bit of its camouflage in the latest set of spy photos.
The latest prototype spied testing reveals more details than ever before, other than the accidental leaked image that was briefly shown in a video in September. The Alfa Romeo SUV will compete with models like the BMW X3 and Mercedes-Benz GLC and is built on a modified version of the rear-wheel-drive platform that underpins the Alfa Romeo Giulia. That means you can expect the Stelvio to share its powertrains with the Giulia with a high-performance version like the Quadrifoglio likely.

Up front the Stelvio is a familiar Alfa Romeo grille and headlights, similar to what’s seen on the Giulia sedan. Overall it sports a coupe-like design, which has become more popular among SUV and crossover models.
The Alfa Romeo Stelvio is scheduled to enter production in the final quarter of this year with sales starting in the U.S. in mid-2017. Check back for more details on the Alfa Romeo Stelvio once it bows at the 2016 L.A. Auto Show in November.
