Ford Police Interceptor Utility Gets Sleek Light Bar Spoiler Integration

Those Ford Police Interceptor Utility vehicles just became much more difficult to spot, thanks to the removal of the roof-mounted light bar. Instead vehicles will have a light bar integrated into the rear spoiler of the vehicle.

The Interceptor Utility features bright LEDs in the spoiler of the vehicle, that means that there’s no visibility reducing light rack in the rear window, and the vehicle has a sleeker overall appearance.

The lights can shine in various combinations of red and blue, or only amber. They can also light up in a way to direct oncoming motorists around the vehicle. They also feature a dimming function that lets them shine at full intensity or dim all the way down to 20 percent.

“Together with our front visor light bar, Rear Spoiler Traffic Warning Lights offer a fully integrated solution for agencies wishing to minimize the presence of their police vehicles,” said Arie Groeneveld, chief program engineer, Ford police programs.
