Mercedes-AMG GLC63 Coupe Breaks Cover While Cold Weather Testing

Spy photographers have caught the Mercedes-AMG GLC63 Coupe testing for the very first time.

Sporting a sloping, stylish roofline, the Mercedes-AMG GLC63 Coupe prototype is mostly sporting camouflage on the front and rear bumpers, typically where most of the AMG exterior changes are done.

Most interesting however is the camouflage on the front grille, looking similar to what was seen on the AMG GT R when it first started testing, hinting that an aggressive grille design could be heading to the high-performance crossover. And even though the front bumper is covered with camouflage, you can see the large air intakes that will be necessary to help the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine breathe.

What really gives it away as an AMG model are the large brakes that the German automaker isn’t able to camouflage, as well as the quad exhaust setup coming out the rear. Although nothing about the model is official yet, including the standard AMG GLC63, it will likely arrive with two states of tune similar to the C- and E-Class models with their more powerful “S” variants. Expect the model to debut sometime in the second half of 2017.
