Porsche Has High Hopes for its First All-Electric Vehicle

1

Porsche believes the Mission E will eventually account for 10 percent of its annual sales.

The German automaker’s first all-electric vehicle is expected to arrive in 2019 and the company believes it will sell around 20,000 units per year. Last year, Porsche saw its global sales increase 19 percent to 225,121 units with the Macan leading the way, accounting for about 40 percent of its sales.

The Porsche Mission E concept first debuted at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show as a Tesla Model S competitor sporting 600 horsepower. At the time of its debut, Porsche said the Mission E concept is capable of going zero-to-62 mph (zero-to-100 km/h) in under 3.5 seconds and will have a range of more than 310 miles.
