Jackson Storm is the New Lightning McQueen

Disney has introduced the stars of the upcoming Cars 3 movie.

After releasing a surprisingly dark trailer last year, Disney is shining the spotlight on what is believed to be the three main characters for the movie: Lightning McQueen, Jackson Storm, and Cruz Ramirez. McQueen is the face of the franchise, but it looks like he’s giving way to Jackson Storm, a 2017 custom-built “next-gen” Piston Cup Racer. Sporting a lightweight carbon fiber and composite body, Jackson Storm in a way represents today’s modern and high-tech vehicles, although he still has a “maximum performance” V8 engine with around 850 horsepower.

There’s also a bit on Cruz Ramirez, who Disney is saying is an unconventional trainer. She’s a sports coupe with a V6 under the hood and is expected to play a major role in the upcoming film. Learn more about all three characters by watching the videos below.
