The Volvo V90 is Finally Coming to the US
The next chapter in Volvo wagons is here, as the V90 is set to premiere in Detroit early next week and will then go on sale in the U.S., though there is a catch.
The V90 is being sold in America exclusively as a made-to-order vehicle, so buyers must purchase the cars through Volvo’s online concierge service or through the overseas delivery option.
The final member of the 90 Series family, the V90 is the wagon version of the stylish S90, and shares platforms with the massively successful XC90 SUV. The V90 will be offered with either the T5 FWD or T6 AWD powertrain in Inscription or R-Design trims.
“Wagons are an important part of Volvo’s history” said Lex Kerssemakers, President and CEO of Volvo Car USA. “The V90 is a fantastic vehicle for the true wagon enthusiast. As we now introduce the most luxurious wagon ever, we choose to do so giving our customers a range of personalized customer order production alternatives.”

The Volvo Concierge service allows customers to choose their vehicle’s features online with the help of a Volvo representative. With the representative’s help, buyers can get exactly the V90 they want with and have it delivered to their local dealership, where they can complete the purchase.
Alternatively, buyers can choose Overseas Delivery. In this case, buyers are furnished with two airline tickets and hotel accommodations in Torsland, Sweden to pick up their V90 from the factory.
The V90 will arrive in virtual showrooms later in 2017 and sold as a 2018 model year.
