Porsche Debuts its Newest Supercar in an Unexpected Place
The Porsche 911 GT2 RS made its debut during the Microsoft Xbox E3 2017 press conference.
The surprise happened as Microsoft introduced the next Forza Motorsport game, Forza Motorsport 7, which will feature the 2018 Porsche 911 GT2 RS as its cover car.
Unfortunately, since the debut didn’t take place at a major auto show, no specs for the car were announced, but it is expected to be powered by a 3.8-liter twin-turbo engine pushing close to 700 horsepower. The actual number hasn’t been confirmed yet, but we do know it will be the most powerfull 911 ever built.
It’s also a rather big statement from Porsche and Microsoft, considering the German automaker has been tied in an exclusivity deal with Electronic Arts for years. But now that the deal has ended, Porsche cars are making their way into many other video game franchises.

Expect details for the new Porsche 911 GT2 RS to be officially announced by the automaker in the near future. The only thing we know for sure is that the GT2 RS will be the halo of Porsche performance, so expect mental performance from the masters in Stuttgart.
