Watch a Front-Wheel-Drive Toyota Yaris do Donuts
The tiny Toyota Yaris probably isn’t the car you think of when someone mentions performance cars.
The Japanese automaker is out to prove its hot hatch has the goods, however, releasing a new video of the Toyota Yaris GRMN dancing along with professional dancers. You read that right, the supercharged 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine produces a surprisingly raspy growl as the driver tosses it around. Although it’s front-wheel drive, the Yaris GRMN gets a Torsen limited-slip differential, allowing it to pull off the antics you see in the video.

Other changes to the GRMN (which stands for a very ambitious Gazoo Racing Masters of the Nurburgring) version include additional bracing, a set of shorter springs, Sachs dampers, thicker front sway bar, and Gazoo Racing tuning on the suspension. The Toyota Yaris GRMN will be offered exclusively as a three-door hatch and will go on sale in Europe starting early next year.
It’s still unclear if the hot hatch is heading to North America, but it doesn’t seem likely.
