10-Year-Old Ohio Boy Goes Joyriding on the Freeway
Police officers in Ohio went on a freeway chase after a 10-year-old boy stole his mother’s boyfriend’s car.
Cleveland.com reports the boy stole the car around 8:30 AM when he was supposed to be waiting for his sister to take him to school. Once the boy’s mother realized he had taken the car, she got into another vehicle and chased after him, while her boyfriend called the police. The result was a 45-mile chase that mostly took place on I-80 and at one point he reached speeds of up to 100 mph (161 km/h).

Police report the boy refused to pull over and was able to elude spike strips. Ultimately a maneuver forced him off the interstate and police were able to apprehend the boy. It wasn’t without a fight however, as the boy refused to cooperate and the police were forced to pull him out the car through the window. He then kicked and spat on officers before being handcuffed.
Fox News reports the 10-year-old is being charged with felony fleeing and eluding and has been placed in a juvenile detention center.
