The Grand Tour’s new Driver Auditions Aren’t Going Well

The Grand Tour recently shared a video of Porsche factory driver and former F1 ace Mark Webber auditioning to be their new on-screen driver.

The audition didn’t go well. Webber got into the Porsche 911 GT2 RS and promptly set a fast lap around the guys’ personal test track, but then it came time for him to sample the Mercedes-AMG GT R. Webber, being a Porsche brand ambassador, let his bias show and purposely drove around the track in a sluggish manner.

Now Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond are trying a new driver. In a clip released on their YouTube channel, the stunt driver sets off in a Renault Clio and all seems to be well, with the Clio squealing its tires as he throws the little hatch into the corners. It then goes all wrong, however, when the Clio goes off course. We won’t ruin it for you, so be sure to check out the trailer embedded above.

The Grand Tour will go live on Amazon Prime on December 8th.
