Here’s the ‘Affordable’ Model from Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus

1

As promised, Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus has revealed its volume production car, called the SCG 004S.

The American automaker teased such a model late last month, with an attractive list of features to go along with a price tag of around $400,000. At the time, the company said its second model would boast a carbon-fiber body and chassis, sport around 650 horsepower, and offer a manual-gated six-speed transmission with clutch pedal option. Now, that model has been unveiled and it will be a proper road car, complete with a VIN making it road legal in America.

The SCG 004S is developed under chief engineer Olivier Thomas, who was involved with the McLaren P1. The mid-engine supercar will be built in America and features a 5.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine with 650 hp and 531 pound-feet of torque with a center-driving position and two seats in the back, making it a proper three-seater. It tips the scales around 2,600 pounds.

Pricing starts from $400,000 and interested buyers can put a 10-percent deposit to secure one. But there’s a bit of a wait, as the first prototype should be running sometime mid-next year and the company doesn’t expect to finish delivering the first 25 Founders Edition vehicles until 18 months from now. Oh, and those Founders Edition are pretty much sold out already, according to Road & Track
