Next Porsche 911 Turbo Takes Shape While Tackling the Snow

Porsche is going full speed on development for the next-generation 911 sports car.

Spied testing in the Arctic, the next-gen 911 is expected to arrive showrooms sometime in 2019, and it appears the Turbo variant won’t be far behind the standard model’s debut. The German automaker isn’t doing much to conceal the styling of the 992 series model, which will feature tail lights spanning the entire rear end, similar to the Panamera. Like other 911 iterations, don’t expect styling to evolve significantly, but we do also see some changes happening up front.

The Porsche 911 Turbo will continue to grow wider, most evident by the rear fenders on this particular prototype. With the current-generation 911 Turbo S sporting 580 horsepower, don’t be surprised if the new model reaches 600 hp. Inside the cabin, expect mostly digital goods with a large touchscreen in the center console and an LCD cluster for gauges – a bit similar to Audi‘s virtual cockpit.

There’s also the possibility Porsche will use some form of electrification to boost performance on the 911 Turbo. For now we will have to patiently wait for more details and a possible debut before the end of the year.
