Whatever Aston Martin is Doing, it’s Working
Aston Martin has announced it sold over 5,000 cars last year – the first time it has done so since 2008.
While it’s not an all-time record for the British automaker, manufacturing is at a nine-year high, thanks to demand for the DB11 and special vehicles including the Vanquish Zagato and Vantage GT8. A total of 5,117 Aston Martin sports cars were sold last year, with demand rising in North America, the U.K., and China.
Compared to 2016, retail sales saw a 58-percent year-over-year increase, while wholesale supply rose 38 percent. As a result, Aston Martin now expects to exceed its previous full-year guidance of adjusted EBITDA of at least £180 million on revenues of more than £840 million.

Looking towards the future, Aston Martin is continuing construction work at its new St Athan facility in Wales, which is due for completion in 2019 – that’s where the new DBX SUV will be produced.
“We continue to perform ahead of expectations, both in terms of financial performance and in meeting our targets for the DB11 and special vehicles,” said Andy Palmer, Aston Martin president and CEO. “This strong sales performance shows that our Second Century transformation plan is building momentum. Phase Two of the programme will be largely completed in 2018 with the introduction of the Vanquish replacement and production of the new Vantage, contributing to continued sustainable profitability at Aston Martin.”
