Aspark Owl Electric Hypercar Hits 60 MPH in Less than Two Seconds
An all-electric hypercar by small Japanese boutique startup Aspark, the Owl, has clocked a 0-to-60 mph time in 1.92 seconds.
In the video, the Owl prototype flies off the blocks (fast forward to the 1:06 mark). Despite the record-breaking time, it is important to note the prototype is outfitted with non-street legal, racing slicks, which the brand hopes to convert into its street-legal equivalent before going into production.
The Aspark Owl first made its concept debut at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show, with a claimed 0 to 62 mph -time within two seconds. According to the crudely designed and marketing-speak heavy Aspark website, the Owl prototype uses two 40-kW motors, placed on both axles for all-wheel drive, each delivering 430 horsepower and 563-pound-feet of torque with a top speed of 174 mph.

Other than its measurements, including a weight of 1873 lbs and sitting rather low at 3.2-feet-tall, not many other specifications nor its production date have been revealed to date.
It is expected to be a limited edition vehicle with only 50 units expected to make it into production, with a $4 million price tag.
