Genesis is Bringing Five Custom G90 Sedans to Hollywood

For the second year in a row, Genesis has teamed up with Vanity Fair to create special edition vehicles for the Academy Awards.

The five custom G90 Special Edition flagship sedans will be presented this week, in the lead up to the 90th Academy Awards. Joining the G90s will be the five inaugural Special Edition cars that debuted at the 2017 Academy Awards.

Genesis says each G90 “was designed to arrive in character at the iconic Vanity Fair Oscar Party, and to serve as transportation for an award nominee or influencer.” Each of the five projects has its own theme, incorporating high-end interior materials that match the exterior treatment.

The Korean automaker has given each project a proper name, starting with “A Touch of Sensuality,” a G90 finished in warm light silver and matte cocoa brown. Inside, there’s brown Nubuck leather and desert sand Nappa interior. Next is “Stardust,” which practically sparkles under the award show lights. This G90 features deep flakes of dark gray, while a tuxedo-style black velvet lines the cabin. Then there’s the “Emerald Dream,” finished in hunter green and dark brown. Inside, the Genesis logo is featured in a repeating geometric pattern in the green leather.

“The Ruler” is a brick red and gray G90 on the exterior and red Nubuck leather inside the cockpit. Finally, “Refined Understatement,” is finished in dark blue and matte white, while the interior boasts silver-dotted piping and a refined finish to the black Nubuck and Nappa leathers.

“The 2018 G90 collection has been designed to honor the glamour of Hollywood and break automotive color and trim boundaries,” said executive vice president Luc Donckerwolke, head of Genesis Design. “These special editions are just the beginning of what we can imagine for ultimate Genesis tailored luxury.”
