Winter may soon be coming to an end, but that doesn’t mean that there isn’t good testing to be done in Norway.

Hakan Samuelsson, Volvo’s CEO, proved that on Twitter when he tweeted a picture of the sedan soaking in the last of the cool weather.

Like its big sisters, the XC60 and the S90, the S60 will be based on Volvo’s malleable SPA platform and will offer the same 4-cylinder engine, attached to a range of forced induction options and will likely also be electrified to some degree.

Hot on the heels of the release of the V60 wagon, the S60 will likely share a number of styling cues with its more capacious counterpart.

Volvo also revealed recently, and confirmed again in the quoted tweet, that production of the S60 will take place in South Carolina. It will be the first vehicle built at the plant, which is Volvo’s first in America.
