BMW M2 Competition Leaks With 410 HP Twin-Turbo Inline Six

9

The rumored BMW M2 Competition has leaked ahead of its official debut – making what was already one of BMW’s most beloved performance models that much more appealing.

Let’s start with the good stuff: the M2 Competition is powered by BMW’s S55 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged inline-six engine, which is making 410 hp and 405 lb-ft of torque in this application. It’s not yet clear if a six-speed transmission will be offered, but BMW says the seven-speed dual clutch model will accelerate from 0-60 mph in 4.2s.

Visually, the M2 Competition is mostly the same as the standard version of the performance coupe. Some differences include black kidney grilles and black exterior trim, model specific lightweight alloy wheels, larger front side air intakes and black exhaust tips. The interior is also mostly the same, but we can spot the seats from an M3/M4 and carbon fiber dash trim.

Full, official details on the BMW M2 Competition should become available shortly, so be sure to check back for more info. For now, we can just enjoy the leaked images.
