Watch the 2019 Corvette ZR1 Hit 212 MPH
The Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 was recently spotted at the Nurburgring, but it seems a fast Nordschleife lap isn’t the only record Chevy’s looking to set with its 755 hp monster.
While in Germany, Chevy paid a visit to ATP Automotive Testing Papenburg – one of the world’s largest automotive test and proving grounds. Papenburg features miles upon miles of straight road bookended by two banked corners, making it the perfect place to see how fast the most powerful production car to wear a bowtie badge can really go.

At Papenburg, a car must run in two directions for the run to be considered official: with the wind, and against it. The average of the two speeds is then deemed to be the vehicle’s true top speed. The ZR1 did 214.88 mph in one direction and 210.20 in another, giving it a top speed of 212 mph.
That’s pretty quick Chevy, now how about that Nurburgring lap?
