The 2019 BMW Z4 Will Probably Look Like This
Japan’s patent office has recently published a design patent for what appears to be the upcoming 2019 BMW Z4.
Last week, BMW itself released some new images of its upcoming sports car, which will share its underpinnings with the Toyota Supra. The German automaker confirmed the Z4 M40i model, promising an “extremely powerful” inline-six engine, electronically controlled dampers, lightweight M alloy wheels, an M braking system, and an electronic locking rear differential. Although the photos BMW released featured a Z4 wearing camouflage bumper to bumper, this published design patent basically reveals the entire thing.

The published design resembles a prototype spy photographers caught testing earlier in the year, which is likely the standard Z4 model. Expect the M40i to get more aggressive styling with wider air intakes up front.
BMW hasn’t set an official date for the Z4’s unveiling, but promises it will be “soon.”
