2020 Porsche Cayenne Coupe Confirmed in Spy Photos

2

We already knew it was probably going to happen, but now we can confirm it: the Porsche Cayenne Coupe will soon be a reality.

Our spy photographers caught this Cayenne Coupe prototype testing not far from Porsche’s headquarters in Stuttgart. It looks mostly like a regular Cayenne, save for Macan-like the rearward sloping roofline and narrow greenhouse. Other notable details on this prototype include the 911 GT3-inspired alloy wheels, absolutely massive steel rotors and circular quad-tip exhaust.

The wheels, brakes and exhaust indicate that this prototype is probably a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 Turbo model. Like the regular Cayenne, the Coupe will also be available with the twin-turbocharged 2.9-liter and 3.0-liter V6 engines as well. A hybrid model with Porsche’s performance hybrid system that appears in the 680 hp Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid should also be offered in the Cayenne Coupe eventually. An eight-speed automatic transmission will standard, as will all-wheel drive.

The Cayenne Coupe will ride on the same Volkswagen Group MLB Evo platform as the regular Cayenne. The interior should also remain mostly unchanged over the regular version of the SUV, although luggage space and rear passenger headroom will take a hit due to the sporty looking sloping roof.

The Porsche Cayenne Coupe is expected to go on sale in mid-2019 as a 2020 model year vehicle. We could see it debut as early as the 2018 Paris Motor Show this fall.
