Why Your Car Needs Lubelocker Gaskets

Why Your Car Needs Lubelocker Gaskets

Lubelocker started out 15 years ago to make a better gasket for differentials, and has been building on that ever since.

Taking care of your vehicle yourself can be as rewarding as it can be a cost savings. Few other things may help you better understand the car or truck you drive better than performing your own maintenance on the rear differential or transmission fluids. DIY differential or transmission projects are more than just about the right tools for the job, since the quality or durability of the gaskets you use could have a big impact on how long they last. Picking a less expensive gasket may be cheaper initially, but they tend to fail more quickly, leading to more frequent replacement. Cheaper gaskets may not fit as well, either, or can be harder to remove when they do eventually fail.

Gaskets are a great example of where choosing the right part could save a lot of time or energy later. Picking the right gasket goes way beyond the right fit for your differential or transmission pan. Surface irregularities on parts from older cars may make it difficult to get a proper seal. But Lubelocker gaskets have a selection of features that should give you a product that solves these issues, saving you time and money in future swaps. There is a selection of gasket for many differentials, and they’ve now expanded to transmission gaskets as well.

Lubelocker has their roots in the off-roading community, very quickly specializing in gaskets for a variety of rear differentials. It’s these years of experience they now bring to transmission pan gaskets, with more innovations on the horizon. There are many features that set a Lubelocker gasket apart, but the most obvious is what’s at its core: Aluminum. An aluminum material core gives the gasket the strength it needs to hold shape and resist tearing as it ages. Rubber or cork-made gaskets can split and tear, but those from Lubelocker should hold their shape.

The internal strength isn’t the only advantage to a Lubelocker gasket. There are foam rubber facings bonded to the surface of each gasket. Because they’re bonded, the facings should resist peeling or tearing off as the gasket ages. They also fill the gaps imperfections in parts can have, creating a tight and long-lasting seal. Then Lubelocker adds their unique red beading to the gasket. This sealant is designed to work like a lipped seal, giving the gasket extra layers of protection against leaks. Even the inevitable moment the gasket needs to be replaced has been considered. Lubelocker gaskets are coated with a final sealant, which also acts to keep the gasket from sticking. This can really save time and mess, allowing the gasket to be easily removed without a lot of scraping.

Lubelocker is better  known for its differential gaskets, particularly among off-roading enthusiasts. But there’s more to Lubelocker gaskets than just rear differentials, now, and they keep expanding. By using the right parts for the job, you’ll be making any future transmission or differential gasket changes in the future quick and easy.
