Speaking after the event, Calo said “the car was so balanced. I was relaxed and only had to make small corrections to the steering and the throttle. The tires let go after lap seven but I kept on going until I knew I’d beaten the record.”
Mercedes Driver to Attempt New Drift Record
Calo, piloting either an E63 or S63 Mercedes AMG, will attempt to hold the car in a third gear drift for four minutes at a speed of 55 mph, covering a distance of 10,000 ft, in order to beat the current 8,000 ft record.
