Seven Days of Dream Car Garages: Day Seven by Colum Wood
8. Acura NSX-R
An icon of the Fast and Furious era, I almost bought an NSX once. Instead, I picked up an S2000. Every beautiful summer day I took it out I came across the same NSX and immediately realized I had made the wrong decision.
With unlimited funds, the NSX will be mine, and not just any NSX either. No, mine will be an NSX-R. An automotive superstar in any form, the Japan-only R weighs 265 lbs less, features new gearing for better acceleration, a track-tuned suspension and plenty of carbon fiber inside, including carbon-backed Recaro seats.
Of course, it has to be a first-generation model with the pop-up headlights. Specifically a 1994 model year car in Championship White. With just 483 ever made, it’s a genuine collector’s car, but I’ll drive it like I stole it.
The second Honda brand car on my list, it’s not the last one either.
