For 2014, Mazda shoehorned a new 2.5-liter engine into the CX-5 to give the crossover more power, and this more potent version of the CX-5 makes the list in the eighth spot.
The new 2.5-liter engine makes 184 hp and 185 lb-ft of torque, an increase of 29 extra ponies and 35 more lb-ft. Fuel economy is rated at 25/32 mpg city/highway for front-drive models and 24/30 mpg for the automatic.
