3. 2013 Ford Escape

Ford’s latest entry into the compact crossover flock, the 2013 Escape, takes position in the third spot on the list.

Three engines are on offer: a 168 hp 2.5-liter, a 178 hp 1.6-liter EcoBoost and a 240 hp 2.0-liter EcoBoost. Design-wise, the new Escape looks almost nothing like its predecessor, with its new angular style.
