GM Recalls Natural Gas-Powered Vans

GM Recalls Natural Gas-Powered Vans

Another day, another GM recall. This time the Detroit-based automotive giant is working to fix issues with some natural gas-powered vehicles.

Models affected by this action include 2011-2014 Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana full-size vans. Obviously this call-back affects versions powered by compressed natural gas, CNG for short.

According to NHTSA 3,196 vehicles are affected. They could leak natural gas from their high-pressure regulators, something that poses a serious fire risk, or worse; this issue could result in an explosion.

If you own one of these vehicles GM will notify you of the issue so it can be taken care of. Dealers will replace high-pressure regulators free of charge. A notification date has not been provided by the manufacturer at this time.
