Porsche Museum Shows Secret Projects From the Past

The Porsche Museum has a one-of-a-kind exhibit currently on display.

The new special display, titled “Project: Top Secret!” features concept cars and camouflaged prototypes that have never been shown in five decades of Porsche history. Running from September 17, 2014 through January 11, 2015, 16 unique vehicles are on display including one-of-a-kind record, test and experimental vehicles. According to the German automaker, much of its development goes on in secrecy to avoid imitation and while most concepts and projects are typically scrapped, the most exciting or important ones were put into the stock of the Porsche Museum.

Now, those vehicles are being shown for the first time to the wider public and those visiting the museum will be able to check out historical vehicles such as the Porsche 924 world record setter and the Type 995 experimental passenger car. Seven of the 16 exhibition cars are from the 1980s: a Porsche 959 aerodynamic prototype, a 928 Cabriolet and a Roadster Type 984 concept that has never been shown before.
