Saleen Foursixteen Sounds as Good as it Looks

The way a car sounds goes a long way in forming the first impression that it leaves and automotive legend Steve Saleen’s latest product seeks to improve that, and many other aspects of the Tesla Model S.

So if you’re expecting the Saleen-modified Tesla Model S that debuted at this year’s Pebble Beach Automotive Weekend to sound like some boring electric car – that is with no sound at all – you’re in for a surprise. Saleen has released a video showcasing its Foursixteen that emits an unmistakably electric, high-pitched whine that sounds like nothing else.

And no Saleen vehicle would be complete without smoking its tires and the Foursixteen does that just splendidly with its 416 hp and plenty of torque. Specific performance figures on the Saleen Foursixteen are not yet available so for now you’ll just have to enjoy the video Saleen has released.
