Schumacher Moves Home for Rehabilitation Process
Michael Schumacher will continue his rehabilitation at his Lake Geneva home.
The move was expected as his family continues with efforts to rehabilitate him after suffering severe brain injuries while skiing in France nine months ago. The family issued a statement announcing the move while discouraging premature optimism on Schumacher’s prospects of making a full recovery. “Considering the severe injuries he suffered, progress has been made in the last weeks and months,” it said. “There is still, however, a long and difficult road ahead.”

The seven-time world champion was skiing in the high-altitude piste at a French resort when the tip of his ski had struck a rock hidden beneath fresh snowfall and pitched him 35 feet forward, headfirst, into another rock. Following his accident, Schumacher underwent at least two brain surgeries to relieve blood clots within the first 36 hours of the accident.
