60 Classic Cars Uncovered in Massive Barn Find

Classic cars possibly worth millions of dollars have been found stashed away in western France.

The collection of 60 cars were assembled by French truck manufacturing mogul Roger Baillon. He purchased them throughout the 1950-1970s before selling half the lot while the rest were left to rot in 1978 when his business went bankrupt. Recently, a team of automotive specialists from French auction house Artcurial heard about the collection from a Baillon family friend and went to discover what has been lying dormant for 50 years. Among the cars in the collection that will be heading to auction are a Bugatti 57 Ventoux, a Ferrari 250GT SWB California Spider and a Packard Super Eight Convertible.

Unfortunately, the majority of the vehicles have been exposed to rough conditions over the last five decades, being stored under “makeshift corrugated iron shelters and in various outbuildings,” according to Artcurial. The Baillon collection will be sold by the auction house at Retromobile on February 6, 2015. Luckily, the classic Ferrari was left in a garage and is in relatively good condition and will likely fetch a few million when it crosses the auction block.
