Jaguar Recalls Every F-Type to Fix Airbags

Every Jaguar F-Type sports car ever built is being recalled.

The British automaker has announced a recall for all of them because of a possible airbag issue due to a faulty connection between the seat belt tensioner sensor and the occupant classification sensor control module. According to Jaguar, that connection may not have been properly wired and as a result the incorrect data could be sent to the restraint control module, which determines whether the front passenger airbag should deploy.

In other words, the F-Type may have its front passenger airbag active even if a child safety seat has been buckled into the spot. The recall affects a total of 7,079 units and Jaguar has received three complaints of faulty warning lights. No injuries related to this issue have been acknowledged and the repair process will begin January 5, 2015.
