Ford Issues Two Recalls for 221K Vehicles

Ford is calling back about 221,000 vehicles to fix issues with door handles and seat belts.

The door handle problems affect 204,945 vehicles and three different nameplates: the 2010-2013 Taurus, Police Interceptor and Lincoln MKS. In these vehicles, the spring which controls the interior door handle can become unseated and the door may become unlatched in a side-impact crash. Dealers will inspect door handles and repair or replace as needed.

Issues with seatbelts plague 16,091 Ford Transit Connect vans. The seatbelt fasteners might not have been tightened properly, which can lead to them working loose over time. Dealers will replace or tighten the fasteners to remedy the issue.
