Jeep Compass, Patriot Being Replaced by One Model

Jeep is planning to replace two models with one.

According to a recent report, the American automaker will create a single model to take the place of its Compass and Patriot offerings and Jeep is currently referring to that model as the Compatriot. The replacement compact SUV is reportedly intended to fill the gap between the Renegade and Cherokee, but don’t expect the Compatriot, if it’s actually called that, to arrive any time soon.

According to Jeep director Jim Morrison, both the Compass and Patriot will play a role in the company’s lineup for the coming years with the replacement model likely to be revealed in 2016 before heading to sale a year later.
