2016 Audi A4 Spied Night Testing
The 2016 Audi A4 is getting ready for its debut in September.
Recently spied testing at night with little camouflage to conceal its body lines, the 2016 Audi A4’s styling has been previewed by the new Q7 and the Prologue concept.
The fifth-generation sedan will be based on a variation of the current platform, MLB EVO, with weight savings as a main focus through the use of high-strength steel and aluminum. Expect interior space to be comparable to the current-generation A4, though the German automaker will outfit it with an interior design similar to what’s seen in the TT and Q7, with a new MMI system and the Virtual Cockpit TFT instrument display.

New for the next-generation A4 will be an e-quattro plug-in hybrid variant that uses electric motors to power the rear wheels along with an engine powering the front. Audi will also offer a diesel model for the first time in the U.S. with the 2016 A4, while a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission will be standard. Rumor has it that Audi will outfit the fifth-generation A4 with a 10-speed transmission at some point in its lifecycle.
Expect the 2016 Audi A4 to make its debut at this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show with sales starting shortly after.
