2015 Hyundai Sonata Priced From $21,960

Hyundai has released pricing for the refreshed 2015 Sonata, starting $300 cheaper than its predecessor as $21,960 including delivery charges. 

An all-new look has been given to the Korean sedan this year thanks to Hyundai’s fluidic sculpture 2.0 design language, which takes the car in a more understated direction compared to the busy design of the current Sonata.

At the base level, the car will be powered by a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that puts out 185 hp and 178 lb-ft of torque, though customers can opt for a 2.0-liter turbocharged motor that cranks out 245 hp and 260 lb-ft. Both engines lost a small amount of power compared to the previous Sonata due to engine tweaks which Hyundai says will help the powerband be more accessible in all driving situations.

Four trim levels are available with the Sonata: SE, Sport, Limited and Sport 2.0T. The base SE model is equipped with 16-inch alloy wheels, seven airbags, LED daytime running lights, keyless entry, air conditioning, Bluetooth and more. Bump up to the $23,985 Sport model, and the Sonata comes fitted with 17-inch alloy wheels, a revised front grille and fascia, chrome-tipped exhaust, rocker panel extensions, chrome interior door handles and heated mirrors.

Moving on to the Limited model, which costs $27,335, the car will make use of the turbocharged engine, and will combine all of the features of the SE and Sport model plus LED taillights, hands-free trunk operation, wooden interior accents, heated leather seats, dual automatic climate control, rear side window shades, metal door sill plates and a premium audio system.

Finally, the top-of-the-line Sport 2.0T model will move for $29,385 before any options are added, though that money alone gets you 18-inch alloy wheels, paddle shifters, sport-tuned suspension, 12.6-inch front brakes, HID Xenon headlights, a rear diffuser, a sport shift knob, 3D appearance interior trim along with sport leather seats.

Options that can be added on to these car include a 400-watt sound system, an eight-inch display with Hyundai’s infotainment setup and navigation, a 4.2-inch LCD screen in the gauge cluster and ventilated front seats.

Once fully loaded, the Sonata will sell for $34,335. For comparison, a base 2014 Toyota Camry sells for $23,235, making the Hyundai about $1,200 cheaper than the Toyota.
